Day by day

  1. Day 1

    Arrive in Istanbul

    Transfer to your Old City hotel. Evening free.

  2. Day 2

    Istanbul Old City

    Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque, Topkapı Palace and the Grand Bazaar with your guide.

  3. Day 3

    Gallipoli

    Drive to the Gallipoli peninsula: Anzac Cove, Lone Pine, The Nek and Chunuk Bair, told by a guide who knows both sides of the story. Overnight in Çanakkale.

  4. Day 4

    Troy and Pergamon

    Walk the layered walls of Troy, then climb to the theatre of Pergamon, the steepest of the ancient world. On to Kuşadası.

  5. Day 5

    Ephesus

    A full morning in Ephesus and the House of the Virgin Mary, then the hill village of Şirince.

  6. Day 6

    Pamukkale

    The white travertines and the Roman city of Hierapolis.

  7. Day 7

    Fly to Istanbul

    Flight back to Istanbul for your onward journey.

Good to know

  • Hot-air balloon flights depend on the weather and are confirmed by the authorities on the morning of the flight. If yours is cancelled we will try to rebook on another morning where the itinerary allows.
  • Mosques require modest dress: shoulders and knees covered; women bring a scarf for the head.
  • Some sites (Ephesus, Pamukkale, Cappadocia valleys) involve uneven ground and walking. Tell us about any mobility needs and we'll adapt the plan.
